Microsoft previews new Windows servicing APIs for enterprises

Microsoft last week launched a public preview of the APIs (application programming interfaces) that IT admins can call on to control Windows Update for Business Deployment Service, the company's latest effort to push commercial customers to adopt cloud-only servicing for Windows 10.
"With today's public preview release, you can use the Windows Update for Business deployment service directly through the Microsoft Graph API and associated SDKs, as well as Azure PowerShell," David Mebane, principal program manager lead with the Windows servicing group, said in an April 28 post.
Although Microsoft trumpeted WUfB Deployment Service at its Ignite developers conference last month, Friday was the unveiling of any actual functionality. Nor were the APIs made available last week the story's end, as Microsoft will continue to expand on the preview's functionality over an as-yet-not-nailed-down timeline.

New Microsoft Graph APIs give greater control over Windows updates

New Microsoft Graph APIs give greater control over Windows updates
Microsoft has released a public preview of new APIs for Microsoft Graph that give system administrators, developers and professionals fine-grain control over updates for Windows 10.
The new APIs are powered by the Windows Update for Business deployment service and allow for greater management of update deployment in various environments. Control over the installation of Windows 10 updates is something that administrators and regular users alike have long craved, but it is something that has been made all the more important this year following the release of a seemingly endless string of problematic updates.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knoxville has plenty of unique spots and buildings that people all over the world travel to see, but that's not the only reason it's such a unique city. It also has a world record holder for the largest Funko Pop collection.
David Mebane earned the Guinness World Record for his collection of 7,095 collectible figures in November 2020. They said that his collection was years in the making — he started building his collection in 2014. Out of all his Funko Pops, they also said 126 are signed.

David Mebane, of Knoxville, said he applied for the world record during the COVID-19 pandemic, and due to safety precautions he had to prove his accomplishment with a 17-hour video showcasing each different Funko Pop! figurine in his collection.
He said that task was nothing compared to the effort he puts into hunting for new additions.
"In Funko world, it's more than a game, it's a hunt," he told WVLT-TV. "I go out every Saturday looking for my Pops. If I miss a Saturday, it won't be there the next, that's usually how it works."
