About 50 DA supporters sang songs backing ousted Western Cape legislature speaker Masizole Mnqasela outside the Western Cape High Court on Thursday.
The DA in the Western Cape stuck to its pledge to get rid of former party member Masizole Mnqasela after a new speaker was elected on Monday morning.
THE DA kicked out its former Speaker Masizole Mnqasela and replaced him with Daylin Mitchell on Monday, 12 December.
The legislature’s previous Speaker, DA MPL, Masizole Mnqasela, had faced a possible motion of no confidence from his own party last month over allegations of fraud and misconduct levelled against him, in connection with travel and entertainment allowances.
As his predecessor prepared for a legal challenge to his ousting, the DA's Daylin Mitchell took his seat as the newly elected speaker in the Western Cape legislature.
