Valley Republicans say they're serious about voter fraud

MWV Republicans’ chairman Steve Steiner says he’s the editor and publisher.
One letter was from MWV Republicans’ vice chair John Hartman of Eaton. Titled, “Local Republican Group Gets Serious about Voter Fraud, it was the same letter Hartman submitted to the Sun, which ran it July 1.
In the letter, Hartman states that Ed Naile of the New Hampshire Coalition of Taxpayers recently spoke about voter fraud, a topic he said the local group is very concerned about.
Hartman states that the MWVRC “has collected voter lists from all valley towns now as well as state historical voting lists on these towns and has a committee using this database to contact voters and spot illegal voting.”

Valley Voice: Here's to no longer living in the 'New Normal'

WELCOME TO OUR first anniversary month of the "New Normal."
It was in mid-March of last year when the world as we knew it changed after Gov. Chris Sununu imposed his Stay-at-Home emergency orders due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
I recall interviewing Conway Village Fire Chief Steve Solomon and asking about precautions. When he mentioned PPE, I had to ask what those now all-too-familiar letters stood for: Personal Protection Equipment, something I didn’t have a clue about but which, like everyone, I now am familiar with, along with wearing a mask in public as a requirement of daily life for most of us who recognize the perils of this deadly virus (outside of those naysayers who choose to believe in political ideology rather than science, putting the rest of us in jeopardy, but I digress).

Attorney Meier to run for Conway moderator

Ten people filed for 12 of the 20 town and six school positions opening up.
One person who is not running for re-election, Town Moderator Deborah Fauver, shared in an email Tuesday that while “I’ve decided not to run again, but I have recruited a great replacement. Then she added mysteriously: “You’ll have to wait for the sign-up period to find out who it is.”
That person is attorney Chris Meier, a partner with Cooper Cargill Chant in North Conway, which is the same firm where Fauver works as a lawyer specializing in estate planning.
Meier, who also serves on the board of the MWV Trails Association, joked with Conway Town Clerk Louise Inkell on Wednesday that Fauver "personally escorted me here” to make sure he signed up.

2020 Year in Review — the year in quotes

Quote of the Week
“My motto is the opposite of Michelle Obama’s. If the president goes low, I’m going to go lower.” — Republican presidential candidate William Weld, while signing the lower door of the refrigerator at The Conway Daily Sun on Jan. 2, 2020.
“I don’t think anybody who runs for mayor in America, thinks, ‘You know, do two terms, and then it’s right to the White House. At least not in the city like mine.” — Democratic presidential candidate Peter Buttigieg during an editorial board at The Conway Daily Sun on Jan. 3.
“They had a little woodpile for protection. That’s about it.”— Ossipee Police Chief Joe Duchesne, describing his officers’ lack of protection during a recent shootout. He asked for $27,000 from town voters to buy body armor for his force on Jan. 14.
