The former Ireland international, who made over 150 first team appearances for the club as a player, has been in charge of the Leesiders' academy for the past three seasons and took interim charge of the first team following the departure of Neale Fenn in October. Cork were relegated to the First Division at the end of last season. "I am thrilled to get this deal done, it’s a huge opportunity and the hard work starts now," said 40-year-old Healy, who played for Celtic, Sunderland and Ipswich among others.

Now, it’s been confirmed that the ex-City player will remain as head coach at Turner’s Cross; the side having been relegated to the First Division.
