Reports of 27 possible Michigan State University Community Compact violations have been received since the start of the spring semester, according to MSU Deputy Spokesperson Dan Olsen.
The Community Compact applies to all MSU students, faculty, staff, alumni, contractors, vendors and visitors. It states a personal responsibility to protect the health and safety of the individual and those around them by requiring face masks, physical distancing, personal hygiene, self-monitoring and adherence to all guidelines.  ....

Michigan State University will enter the next phase of lifting the enhanced physical distancing directive, according to an email from Senior Vice President for Residential and Hospitality Services and Auxiliary Enterprises Vennie Gore.
The next phase allows students to participate in approved two-person activities at the IM buildings, including table tennis, badminton and pickleball. Additionally, main lounges, bike rooms and the reflection room in Butterfield Hall reopened at 5 p.m. Friday, the email said. ....

EAST LANSING, MI Michigan State University is lifting a two-week enhanced physical distancing directive and will use a phased approach to reopening that will be modified on a week-to-week basis.
MSU issued the directive on Jan. 31 as COVID-19 cases on campus continued to rise. It is being lifted at 11:59 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13.
Although the university is seeing a slight reduction in positivity rates in the on-campus community, it has not met a safe enough level to fully lift the directive, according to a letter to students from Vennie Gore, interim vice president for student affairs and services, and David Weismantel, a university physician. ....

During a widespread emergency, many responder agencies are unable to exchange information between their computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems, stifling situational awareness and introducing operational inefficiencies that can impair coordinated response.
To address this challenge, the Integrated Justice Information Systems (IJIS) Institute will develop interoperability standards for CAD systems used by the nation’s public safety agencies. The CAD2CAD project funded by the Department of Homeland Security’s Science & Technology Directorate (S&T) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) aims create a resilient, efficient and interoperable public safety ecosystem that supports multidiscipline response to regional, multistate or national events. ....
