China has set the goal of becoming a museum powerhouse by 2035 by establishing world-class museums with Chinese characteristics, according to a document released by the National Cultural Heritage Administration on Monday.
According to the document titled "Guiding Opinions on Promoting Reform and Development of Museums," special focus will be laid on 10 to 15 museums that represent the Chinese culture, all the while enriching the Chinese appeal of the museums and enhancing the services offered.
Over the years, Chinese museums have been making progress in terms of venue upgrade, protection of cultural relics, intensification of research and international exchanges. They are increasingly moving closer to the very center of top museums in the world.

Hundreds of fine hexagonal brick tiles taken out of different structures during restoration work of Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex have been crushed along with unserviceable material and used as one of the key ingredients of mortar. Many of these hexagonal bricks have also been thrown out of complex as mulba (Trash). The clay bricks were so fine, strong and unique that if stacked and preserved could have been re-used as ornamental pieces in the same complex thereby retaining the originality of historical buildings but lack of knowledge or call it concern robbed people of Jammu of its treasure.

New Delhi, Feb 02: The outlay for Annual Budget 2021-22 of Ministry of Culture is Rs. 2687.99 Crore as against the outlay (Rs. 2211.85 Crore) approved for the revised Budget Plan 2020-21.
This outlay includes provisions for 2 attached offices, 6 Subordinate offices , 34 central Autonomous Bodies and schemes of the Ministry during the Financial year 2021-22. The annual outlay in FY 2021-22 is 21.53% higher than the revised annual outlay in FY 2020-21.
Out of the total outlay for annual budget, Rs. 1042.62 Crore has been allocated to the Archaeological Survey of India. In FY 2021-22, Ministry has kept Rs. 455.20 Crore for Kala SanskritiVikasYojana, Development of Museums, International Co-operation and Centenary and Anniversary Celebration Scheme of Ministry. Under various schemes, a sum of Rs. 102.87 crore has been allocated ie under North Eastern Region (Rs. 45.52 Crore), Tribal Sub Plan (Rs. 37.78 Crore ) and Schedule Caste Sub Plan (Rs. 19.57 Crore) .

The Union Minister of Finance has announced an outlay of INR 2,687.99 crore for FY22 as against the outlay of INR 2,211.85 crore in 2020-21.
This outlay includes provisions for 2 attached offices, 6 Subordinate offices, 34 Central Autonomous Bodies and schemes of the Ministry during the FY2021-22. The annual outlay in FY 2021-22 is 21.53% higher than the revised annual outlay in FY 2020-21.
Out of the total outlay for annual budget, INR 1,042.62 crore has been allocated to the Archaeological Survey of India. In FY22, Ministry has kept INR 455.20 crore for Kala Sanskriti Vikas Yojana, Development of Museums, International Co-operation and Centenary and Anniversary Celebration Scheme of Ministry. Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], December 15 (ANI): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday visited the Mubarak Mandi complex here and took a first-hand appraisal of the status of conservation and restoration works being undertaken at the heritage complex.
The Lieutenant Governor took an extensive tour of various segments and sections of the Mubarak Mandi Complex and sought a detailed briefing on the progress of the ongoing restoration and renovation works of the heritage complex.
He was accompanied by Raghvendra Singh, Secretary/CEO Development of Museums, Union Ministry of Culture, Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam and Principal Secretary to Lt Governor Nitishwar Kumar.

The Lt Governor took an extensive tour of various segments and sections of the Mubarak Mandi Complex and sought a detailed briefing on the progress of the ongoing restoration and renovation works of the heritage complex.
Executive Director, Mubarak Mandi Heritage Society, Deepika Sharma informed the Lt Governor about the status of ongoing restoration work, besides several other important issues pertaining to the restoration of Dogra Art Museum, preservation of historical records, and important components.
