DJI's new $1,299 (£1,249, AU$2,099) FPV drone is here and its incredible speed and awesome first-person perspective means it's a flying experience unlike anything else I've tried before.
FPV stands for "first person view." And while all drones offer a point-of-view from the front of the craft, it's been up to hobbyists and racers to move that view from the phone or tablet screen to VR-style goggles. But with its new FPV drone, DJI is pulling that experience together in the box. It's the first ready-to-fly FPV system from the default name in drones, and it promises to make it much easier to experience and shoot fast-action FPV footage.

SHENZHEN, China, March 18, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- SkyPixel, one of the world's most popular aerial photography community, today announced the winners of its 2020 Aerial Storytelling Contest. Co-organized with DJI, this year's contest attracted more than 26,000 submissions from professional photographers, videographers, aerial enthusiasts and content creators from 136 countries.
The Video Category grand prize winner Ellis Van Jason shared breathtaking, high-speed FPV sequences shot on the island of Madeira. "A year ago, I asked myself what kind of pilot do I want to be," said Van Jonson. "Race drone pilot or Freestyle Pilot? Neither of the two was an option, and it took me some time to find my place. I ended up in the cinematic mid-long-range area and I kind of like it out here."

As someone who travels quite often for both work and pleasure, I’ve come across a lot of different items that make my life a lot easier while packing or on vacation. These are a few that I would recommend when you’re ready to hit the road again or jump on a plane.
This is probably the one that I get the most questions about while traveling. The Sleeper Scarf wears like a normal infinity scarf, but hidden inside is a deflated neck pillow. Once you’re on the plane, you unzip a little flap where you can blow air into the pillow to inflate the scarf into a neck support pillow to take a relaxing nap. They now even sell three-piece sets that include the sleeper scarf, an eye mask and a spray with hints of lavender to relax you and help lull you to sleep.

DJI FPV Drone Review: An Exhilarating but Imperfect Experience

Alerts
DJI is widely known for its commercial drones that are easy to use and friendly to newcomers, as well as for its content creation features for vlogs and even cinematography. With its new first-person view drone, DJI wanted to make a splash in the drone-flying community with a quad that toes the line. The DJI FPV shares features with high-end modular racing drones but was easy enough for this beginner to get started, though it is missing a couple of features that would take it over the line.
The $1,299 FPV bundle comes with all the necessary equipment to fly on day one. First, you have the drone itself, which looks nothing like DJI’s other commercial drones. Weighing in at 800 grams (or a little under 1.75 pounds) with the battery, the FPV has a solid-bodied design, something akin to the Phantom Pro 4. It’s very unlike the Mavic series, in which the drone folds into itself for a compact form factor. The quad comes equipped with a 4K camera that can shoot up to 60 fps, and in 4x slow motion at up to 120 fps.

Dow Jones Industrial Average, S&P 500: Government Shutdown A Gift For Investors

Dow Jones Industrial Average, S&P 500: Government Shutdown A Gift For Investors
Mike Burnick: The U.S. government began shutting down Tuesday for the first time in 17 years. Considering how dysfunctional our federal government has become, a time-out in Washington may not be such a bad thing.
And if history is a guide, the shutdown may prove to be a buying opportunity for stock investors.
The media have drawn plenty of parallels between the current budget battle and the previous one in November and December 1995.
That fiscal fight, between Bill Clinton and Newt Gingrich, played out similarly. Notwithstanding some volatility, the S&P 500 Index actually rose during two separate shutdowns in November and December 1995.
