Talks between striking doctors and the Rajasthan government over the protest against the Right to Health Bill remained inconclusive on Monday.
The six-member delegation of doctors, led by secretary of Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Society, Vijay Kapoor met the state government representatives to resolve the impasse over the Bill and ensure appropriate medical care to the people.
The doctors' bodies said that the two sides reached consensus during talks with the state government agreeing to keep private hospitals that have not availed land at subsidised rates or other benefits from it outside the ambit of the proposed law.
The ADEH, however, has suggested a robust accountability mechanism in the rules whereby along with doctors, government officials would also be made accountable.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday alleged that a "lobby" associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was inciting and misguiding private doctors agitating against Right to Health Bill in the state while patients are suffering.
