A six-year-old Labrador named Kent sacrificed her life while serving with the 21 Army Dog Unit in Jammu and Kashmir. During 'Operation Sujaligala', Kent displayed exceptional valor by defending her team against intense gunfire, resulting in the loss of her own life. The operation led to the death of a terrorist and an army jawan, while three other jawans were injured.
One terrorist was gunned down while one soldier lost his life in the encounter which broke out in the Narla area a top police official said yesterday.
Kent was a part of the 21st Army Dog Unit and laid down her life while saving her handler.
Kent, the six-year-old Army Labrador was laid to rest on Wednesday with full military honours complete with a wreath-laying ceremony and floral tributes in Rajouri.
Additional Director General of Police, Mukesh Singh, said one terrorist and an army jawan were killed in the encounter that broke out in the Narllah area of the Rajouri district in the Jammu region.
