Biden admin lied about border agreements with Mexico, Central America

Biden admin lied about border agreements with Mexico, Central America
The Biden administration claimed they had agreements to control the border with Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico. They acted as if they came up with the idea despite the fact that former President Trump had agreements with them and El Salvador that the Biden administration quickly ended. As it turns out, Biden doesn’t even have any agreements with any of these nations. Rep. Issa called it a “bald-faced lie.”
There was no “formal agreement,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters in Washington.
“We never described it as a formal declaration or a formal agreement, but additional steps that they were taking to increase personnel at the border. And those are steps you can confirm with those countries that they have taken,” she added.

White House lying about border deals with Central American countries, Rep. Issa says

Former acting ICE director Ron Vitiello argues that leadership engagement at the border would help people understand how the crisis started, and how to fix it.
EXCLUSIVE: Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., said the Biden administration's announcement that three Central American countries agreed to temporarily increase their border security is "the biggest foreign policy lie since Iran-Contra" in an interview with Fox News.
"The administration is trying to take credit for something that simply didn’t happen," the congressman told Fox.
"We've secured agreements for them to put more troops on their own border. Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala have all agreed to do this. That not only is going to prevent the traffickers, and the smugglers, and cartels that take advantage of the kids on their way here, but also to protect those children," Special Assistant to the President for Immigration for the Domestic Policy Council Tyler Moran said Monday in an MSNBC interview.

Guatemala, Honduras Deny Committing to Deploy More Border Guards

14 Apr 2021
The Guatemalan government denied any signed deal as part of a “commitment” touted by the Biden administration Monday to deploy hundreds of police and military personnel to its southern border with Honduras to stem the surge of migrants heading to the U.S. southern border.
Honduras added it is exploring deploying more soldiers on its border with Guatemala. Still, it has not decided yet, stressing there is “no commitment” to deploy soldiers to the border despite its desire to prevent its nationals from making the potentially deadly journey north.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki and Special Assistant to the President for Immigration for the Domestic Policy Council Tyler Moran touted a multinational “commitment” by Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala on Monday to boost their border guards.

Biden Team Touts Multinational 'Commitment' for Border Guards in Mexico

13 Apr 2021
The Biden Administration has secured “commitments” with Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras to secure their borders and stem the flow of migration overwhelming the U.S.-Mexico international boundary, a top U.S. official and the White House said Monday.
Nevertheless, the “commitments” exclude El Salvador, a country fueling the border crisis, amid friction between the Biden administration and Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele. The Salvadoran leader worked with former President Donald Trump on reducing illegal migration, likely drawing the ire of Democrats.
In an interview with MSNBC on Monday, Special Assistant to the President for Immigration for the Domestic Policy Council Tyler Moran mentioned a two-pronged approach to address the Biden border crisis.
