Abhishek Banerjee, a senior Trinamool Congress leader, has accused the BJP of creating the 'India versus Bharat' debate to divert attention from important issues such as price rise, communal tensions, border disputes, and unemployment. The debate began after Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan shared a G20 dinner invite referring to Droupadi Murmu as the 'President of Bharat'. Banerjee criticized the distraction and urged people to hold the government accountable for problems like skyrocketing prices and rampant inflation.

"INDIA vs BHARAT is just a distraction orchestrated by the BJP. Let's cut to the chase and hold the govt accountable for skyrocketing prices, rampant inflation, communal tensions, unemployment, border disputes and their empty rhetoric of Double Engine and Nationalism," TMC MP posted on X (Former Twitter).

In a significant move, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed the beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala (Chief Ministers Daughter Welfare) Scheme at a special event held at Lok Bhawan. 

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced an increase in the amount of the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangla Yojana, a scheme aimed at empowering girls in the state. Starting from the financial year 2024-2025, the amount will be raised from Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000. Under the scheme, various amounts will be transferred to the parents' account at different stages of the daughter's life.
