thanks to a new Iowa law, getting out your phone and betting on sports no longer requires you to visit a casino. First. It's clear the gaming industry is betting big on Super Bowl 55. Incredibly easy. Ah, lot of sports books, air buying, a lot of ads and they're all offering big incentives to try to get you in the game with them. Prairie Meadows staff are waiting with anticipation for what the Super Bowl could bring in. We think there's a lot of story lines there and a lot of interest. Executive VP Brad Ryan says The Altuna casino saw more than $150 million worth of sports bets in 2020 before the law changed. And is the pandemic scuttled sporting events? We feel like we've got a nice, solid base from which to build upon, and we think anything else that comes in, Chris remotely eyes just, you know, icing on the cake. And for Iowa, there's an intriguing aspect to this year's Super Bowl matchup. Drake Law professor Keith Miller studies sports betting last year. I know a lot of chief stands traveled from Kansas city up to OSI Ola to go to the casino there to bet on the games this year. They won't have to go any farther than Lemoni. And that's because bettors can now just hop over the border register, bet and go home. So we'll Super Bowl 55 b a big test for whether the new law brings in bigger bucks. I don't know if I call it a test, but it's certainly going to be revealing, Miller says it will show whether the in person sign up requirement was suppressing the market. And he says the deluge of ads is proof of the big games importance to the industry. They don't take every opportunity to grab market share, then they may never. They may never get it, but casino critics worry these ads and offers could lead to more problem. Gambling is, they're putting very attractive looking bait into the trap to get the young minds, not super credits. Tom Coates is referring to sports books. Target market, young men. Once they get them in, it is hard to get out of that trap. Coats is concerned that could lead to snowballing debt, Ryan says. Prairie Meadows encourages betting responsibly, have to be transparent, and you have to support those things that potentially could be problematic for others. But it's also an entertainment experience for the vast majority. And I think making sure that we're compliant in both respects really helped set us apart in a lot of ways.
