With Crowe's role all but solidified, the inclusion of Zeus opens up a huge possibility for the future of Marvel movies in using their roster of Greek-god-based characters. Including, of course, Zeus' son Hercules.
The Marvel comics version of Zeus, and indeed the rest of their mythology-based characters, is mostly based on the one in Greek legends, but with some extra superhero zhuzh going on. He's one of the Olympians — the human-appearing beings who come from the dimension Olympus (rather than the mountain).
Like in the myth, he's the god of the heavens, sky, weather, and can smite people with lightning bolts. And just like in the myth, Zeus is a total horndog.

Thor Love and Thunder's Russell Crowe confirms his character

Thor: Love and Thunder.
The New Zealand-born actor joins the ranks of Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo as a Marvel star who may have inadvertently revealed more about their upcoming movie than the Disney-owned studio wanted.
In Crowe's case, it's not a massive surprise as fans had guessed he'd come aboard to play Marvel's version of the Greek god Zeus, but the theory has seemingly been proved correct after a recent radio interview.

Speaking to
JOY Breakfast with The Murphys, the actor casually ended the interview with a spoiler: "I'm going to get on my bicycle and ride up to Disney-Fox studios, and around 9.15, I shall be Zeus."

Netflix picks up Christian Bale's new horror-thriller

The
Pale Blue Eye has been nabbed by the streaming service for a whopping $55 million – the most ever paid for a worldwide deal at the European Film Market.
The movie, which is based on Louis Bayard's 2003 novel of the same name, will see Oscar-winning Bale reunite with Scott Cooper who is adapting the script and directing.

Pale Blue Eye follows a detective who is looking to solve a series of murders that took place in 1830 at the US Military Academy of West Point.
