Venkatesh: Narappa team releases a new poster of Venkatesh on Maha Sivaratri

On the occasion of Maha Sivaratri, the team of Narappa released a new poster of Victory Venkatesh.
Unlike the previous posters where he’s seen in a rustic role with salt and pepper look, the new poster sees him in a younger avatar. The actor is seen dancing in the rain for a scene that possibly takes place during a flashback sequence in the film.
Narappa is the remake of Tamil blockbuster Asuran and Venkatesh is reprising Dhanush’s role. The film deals with the topics of caste oppression and the posters are already getting good response. The teaser which was released recently was met with appreciation too.

Recently, it was confirmed that Venkatesh Daggubati will be joining hands with acclaimed director Jeethu Joseph for the Telugu remake of Malayalam superhit film ‘Drishyam 2.’ On Monday, the customary pooja ceremony of the project tentatively titled ‘Drushyam 2’ took place amid the presence of the cast and crew in Hyderabad. Keeping Covid-19 protocols in mind, the makers launched the film with just a few members and ensured that all safety precautions have been implemented. Sharing a group photo from the venue, Jeethu wrote on his social handle “Telugu Drishyam 2 starts rolling on March 5th in Hyderabad.” Venky also shared the inauguration photos on his handle.

Director Jeethu Joseph has announced on his Facebook page that he will be directing Drushyam 2 with Venkatesh Daggubati in the lead role, which will be the remake of his recent Mollywood film Drishyam 2, with Mohanlal in the lead role. He added that the film will be rolled out in March. He also shared a photo with Venkatesh Daggubati and Rajkumar Sethupathi, who will be bankrolling the project. It is to be noted that the first part of the Tollywood version was directed by Sripriya and not Jeethu Joseph.

Malayalam-language cinema superstar Mohanlal Viswanathan, known popularly as Mohanlal, is back with “Drishyam 2: The Resumption,” which will debut on Amazon Prime Video worldwide Feb. 19.
Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the film is the keenly anticipated sequel to his 2013 Malayalam-language blockbuster “Drishyam,” a thriller where Mohanlal plays a cable TV operator who deploys an elaborate ruse to save his family from a murder charge. The film, one of the all-time box office champions in the language, spawned several remakes featuring major stars. It was remade in the Kannada language as “Drishya,” starring Ravichandran, in 2014; in Telugu as “Drushyam,” starring Venkatesh, in 2014; in Hindi as “Drishyam,” starring Ajay Devgn, in 2015; in Tamil as “Papanasam,” starring Kamal Haasan, in 2015; and in Sinhala, as “Dharmayuddhaya,” starring Jackson Anthony, in 2017.
