Heavy Industries Ministry: The second phase of FAME-II or Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India programme ends on March 31, 2024. Announcing E-Mobility Promotion Scheme 2024 (EMPS 2024), Heavy Industries Minister Mahendra Nath Pandey said the Modi government is committed to promoting e-mobility in the country.
Out of total 2.8 million passenger and small commercial cars, only 12,000 are battery electric cars.
Skoda EV India: The focus on electric mobility is in alignment with the government of India's push for EVs, targeting 30 per cent new car sales by 2030, Skoda Auto India Brand Director Petr Janeba said. The company is testing electric SUV Enyaq for possible launch in India this year.
