'Metroman' E Sreedharan on Sunday said he was ready to take up any responsibility given to him by the BJP,which he had recently joined.

Despite the BJP winning two municipalities and 19 village panchayats in local body elections, it won just 1,600 of 22,000 seats.
The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Idukki district president KS Aji was elated when the party retained eight of the 35 wards in the municipality of Thodupuzha, a small town in the hilly district in Kerala, in the local body elections in December.
“We had begun our work six months in advance and went about scientifically analysing the social structure and issues before finalising our candidates and manifesto,” Aji told ET Magazine. “Yet we are disappointed that in spite of all that hard work, our vote share and the number of seats in the Thodupuzha municipality remained the same.”

KOCHI: After formally joining the BJP last week, it was E Sreedharan’s first visit to the city on Thursday. He came to inspect the rebuilt Palarivattom flyover. However, it also turned out to be his final visit to the business capital in his official capacity, where he oversaw prestigious projects including the big-ticket Kochi Metro. The announcement by the Metroman that he will step down as principal advisor to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) marks the culmination of a 67-year-long professional career.
