An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 on the Richter scale hit Sikkim on Monday night, the National Center for Seismology said. The quake occurred at 8.49 pm at a depth of 10 km near the India-Bhutan border.
People got frightened and rushed out of their houses. Earthquake tremors were also felt in parts of Assam, Bihar and West Bengal.

4.7 magnitude earthquake rocks Assam


4.7 magnitude earthquake hit Sonitpur district of Assam and Guwahati at 5.54 pm on Wednesday. 
The National Center for Seismology (NCS) said that there is no report of any loss of life or damage reported so far, police said. People rushed outdoors in fear after the quake. According to the NCS, The epicentre of the quake was at a depth of ten km located on latitude 26.71 degrees north and longitude 92.63 degrees east in Tezpur area of Sonitpur district.
Meanwhile, An earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale jolted Ladakh today early morning. According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake struck the Union Territory at 7:39 am. The depth of the earthquake was recorded to be 200 kilometres.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was unflustered by an earthquake that struck Tajikistan on late Friday night while he was virtually interacting with the students of the University of Chicago and calmly continued with the live programme.
"By the way, I think there's an earthquake going on," Rahul Gandhi was heard saying in the live virtual interaction with historian Dipesh Chakrabarty and political science students from the University of Chicago when strong tremors were felt across north India in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, the Delhi-NCR and Uttarakhand.

An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter Scale hit Tajikistan at 10:31pm Friday night, according to National Centre for Seismology. Strong tremors were felt across the north Indian subcontinent with tremors in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, the Delhi-NCR and Uttarakhand.

A high-intensity earthquake of magnitude 6.3 on the Richter Scale jolted Tajikistan in central Asia late on Friday night, leading to tremors in several northern states of India. According to the National Centre for Seismology, the epicentre of the quake was Tajikistan. The agency had earlier said the quake's epicentre was Amritsar in Punjab but later released a revised statement.
According to the GFZ German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ), the quake struck the Tajikistan-Xinjiang border region at a depth of 86 km at 10.31pm, reported news agency Reuters.

An earthquake of magnitude 6.1 on the Richter scale hit Amritsar, Punjab at 10:34 pm on Friday night, the National Centre for Seismology informed. Tremors felt in Deli-NCR. A 7.5 magnitude earthquake was felt in Afghanistan. Tremors were also reported from Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
The epicentre of the quake is said to be Alwar in Rajasthan. The earthquake was felt in four countries including India.
An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 struck the Tajikistan-Xinjiang border region late on Friday, the GFZ German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) said. The quake was at a depth of 86 km (53.4 miles), GFZ said. There have been no reports of destruction or casualties so far.
