PML-N leader records statement in sedition case

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Capt (r) Mohammad Safdar recorded statement in a sedition case at the East Cantt Police Station on Thursday.
The PML-N leader and son-in-law of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif appeared before the officers and recorded the statement at the police station, denying the allegations.
The East Cantonment Police Station had lodged an FIR against Safdar over alleged sedition and incitement of the personnel of the armed forces in a media talk on February 9.
Safdar was booked under Pakistan Penal Code, Section-121 (waging war against Pakistan), Section-121-A (conspiracy to wage war against Pakistan), Section-124-A (sedition), 131 (Mutiny or seducing soldier for mutiny), Section-153 (provocation to cause riot) and Section-505 (statement to cause public mischief).

PESHAWAR: The officer of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) martyred in a firing incident outside the Central Prison Peshawar on Saturday was not the target of the attackers, but the person sitting in his car was the one the armed men wanted to kill, it was learnt.
The attack was carried out in the sensitive area Saturday night. An inspector of the CTD Khushdil Khan was martyred in the attack while a civilian Iftikhar was injured.

PESHAWAR: At least 15 policemen were among dozens of motorcyclists booked by the police for riding unregistered motorbikes, an official said. He added that a crackdown on unregistered bikes had been launched, under which dozens were arrested by personnel of different police stations in the provincial capital. The official said five among those arrested on Wednesday by the East Cantt Police Station were policemen. The number of policemen booked by other police stations could not be ascertained.

KARACHI:
The Anti-Terrorism court sent Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) leader and MNA Ali Wazir and others to jail on judicial remand.
Police produced Wazir and others before the ATC in Karachi. The court sent all the accused to jail on judicial remand.
The court further directed the investigating officer to submit the challan before the court till the next hearing.
