UWPD: Driver backs into squad car during traffic stop before she, passenger try to fight officers

Two people were arrested and a police officer suffered a minor injury following a traffic stop during which the vehicle's occupants tried to fight officers, the UW-Madison Police Department said Thursday.

Man shot in arm at James Madison Park, police say July 7, 2021 2:29 PM Logan Rude MADISON, Wis. — A man was shot in the arm at James Madison Park on Wednesday, officials with the Madison Police Department said. Officers were dispatched to the area of East Gorham and North Blount streets shortly after 11 a.m. for a report of a man with a gunshot wound. The victim, a 36-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. Police said they are actively investigating the incident.
