The Nigerian Army has confirmed that its troops of 82 Division, Enugu State, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services invaded Amagu village and Nkalaha, an Ebonyi State community and raided camps allegedly occupied by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Eastern Security Network. The army noted that the security operatives while conducting joint operations raided the camps located on Monday while on Exercise Golden Dawn II. 

The defence minister says the myriad of security threats across the country has continued to endanger economic growth and food security.

The gunmen threw improvised explosives into the police facility, an official said.

“Regrettably, a total of seven persons lost their lives in the attack while six others sustained injuries.”

Earlier report in the media said the market was bombed by IPOB.
