Police Minister David Elliott calls for teacher to be sacked over Black Lives Matter posters

The Daily Telegraph reported.
Asked by 2GB host Ben Fordham on Wednesday whether he thought the teacher should be sacked, Mr Elliott replied: “I do.”
“It’s been a wide call from the community this morning and overnight,” he said. “The headmistress, [principal] Stephanie McConnell, in my view should be fronting the media today and explaining why taxpayers’ dollars are being spent to educate children in this manner.”
I can’t believe we’ve got these left-wing teachers out there acting racist themselves by saying white lives don’t matter. Well, they do. Everybody matters.

Classroom shortage by 2023 as bureaucrats bungle plans

There will not be enough classrooms for the students in the state's public education system in just two years time, according to a scathing NSW Auditor's General's report released on Thursday.
The audit of the Department of Education's school building program found bureaucrats failed to properly plan for project costs, leading to budget blowouts on new school building projects.
They also failed to adequately anticipate for future population growth in students, which is expected to grow by 180,000 extra pupils by 2039.
"School Infrastructure NSW has been focused on delivering existing projects, election commitments and other government announcements," the report said.

This Australian State Will Experiment With Free Pads and Tampons in All Public Schools
The goal: Make period poverty for students a thing of the past.
Why Global Citizens Should Care
Period poverty refers to a lack of access to access to products needed to safely manage menstruation due to poverty, stigma, misinformation or inadequate sanitation. Without safe products, students who menstruate can be forced to stay home and miss class or use items like socks or newspapers to manage their periods. Global Citizen campaigns on the United Nations' Global Goals, including goal 5 for gender equality. Join the movement and take action here.

Is Mark Latham running education policy in NSW? No, but the direction is concerning

Last week Mark Latham tweeted that it had been a “good end to 2020 for NSW One Nation school’s policy”. He listed a policy checklist of achievements: a mandatory year one phonics check, a “clean out” of the NSW Education Standards Authority’s 42,000 professional development courses, a new “earned autonomy” policy for struggling schools, and the introduction of the Teach for Australia program - which fast-tracks people into the teaching profession.
If you take this tweet at face value, you could be forgiven for thinking one of the largest public education systems in the world is now run by One Nation. Of course, that’s what politicians do. They’re quick to take credit whether they deserve it or not.
