Wash Co Comm & Nurse Katie Scott Shares Pandemic Perspective, Addresses A2 Council Member Comments

Listen to the full interview.
As a Washtenaw County commissioner and Michigan Medicine ICU nurse, Katie Scott had already been speaking out about pandemic protocols as the number of COVID cases in the state have been rising.
She has also publicly and personally addressed recent comments by an Ann Arbor city council member containing a homophobic slur.
As a self-described “out elected official,” Katie Scott said she felt a need to write a letter addressing a comment posted on social media by council member Jeff Hayner.  The comment was a quote from a book but maligned journalists using a homophobic slur.  Hayner has since apologized, and the Washtenaw County commissioner said she was happy to see that, adding, however, she would like to see him "do some work to show that there is action behind his words."
