Icy roads warning for most NL; Lots of snow in Limburg, Noord-Brabant later today

The winter weather continues to cause traffic problems in the Netherlands. The entire country except for the Wadden islands is covered by a code yellow warning for icy roads. And fewer trains are running between Eindhoven Central Station and Sittard and Utrecht and Eindhoven Central Station due to the snow. Limburg and Noord-Brabant will be getting lots of snow later today, the KNMI expects.

Anti-curfew protests spark clashes in Netherlands

Protests against a curfew to curb the spread of Covid-19 in the Netherlands degenerated into clashes with police and looting in cities across the country yesterday, authorities and reports said.
Police used water cannon and dogs in Amsterdam, public television NOS reported, after hundreds gathered to protest the curfew which is set to last until 10 February and is the country's first since World War II.
In the southern city of Eindhoven, police fired tear gas to disperse a crowd of several hundred, regional television Omroep Brabant reported. At least 30 people were arrested there, according to police.
