From PUBG to WoW, here are some of the best April Fool’s jokes we’ve seen
April 1 is a precarious time to be covering the games industry as a news writer. Some studios may throw something out there that could trip you up – boo! – whereas others take advantage of the silliness of the occasion to put out something that’s actually real, pretty neat, or just absurdly daft. I need somewhere to stick these April Fool’s jokes I’m coming across on my usual news hunt – read: scrolling through Twitter and Reddit – so here are some gags and cool modes that we think are pretty neato.

Bloodborne players can get involved by creating a brand new character and as they are playing through the game, they need to “engage with as much co-op as possible”. You can tell who is taking part and also your own cooperation in the event by leaving and reading messages beside as many lamps as possible.
You’ll also need to make sure your network is connected to worldwide so that as many players as possible is able to join you in the adventure.

Elden Ring from Elden Ring modded into Skyrim

Elden Ring from Elden Ring modded into Skyrim
The Elden Ring from Elden Ring, an upcoming game we know very little about, has been modded into Skyrim. The mod spawns the piece of jewelry, based on a literal interpretation of the game’s title, in a pool, forcing players to search for it.
The treasure, derived from FromSoftware’s next RPG game that we’ve seen zero actual gameplay from, is a small golden ring, now hidden in the depths around Dragonsreach. To get it, you’ll have to dive down to retrieve it, similar to Gollum in The Lord of the Rings, except the precious is memes based on an action-adventure game involving George R. R. Martin that we’re assured still exists.

Elden Ring suffers ANOTHER delay? 'That leak was definitely not worth it'

"But I still think things are happening, things are coming together. The reason I think the leak might have messed things up is I just think Bandai Namco is cracking down, figuring out how to adjust the messaging, making sure they fully understand how the leak happened, and then continue down the path toward officially announcing the game."
Grubb also speculates that the game could potentially launch in 2021, although rumours suggest early 2022 is more likely.
It's worth taking the rumours with a pinch of salt for now, because even Grubb isn't totally sure that the March reveal isn't happening.
Reacting to the news on Twitter, some fans have suggested that the leak definitely wasn't worth it.

Elden Ring Insider Shares Disappointing Update

Elden Ring fans have been waiting for the game's first trailer to officially drop, but it seems that won't be happening in March. Jeff Grubb previously claimed an official reveal for the game would happen this month, but the industry insider now states it has been pushed back by publisher Bandai Namco following a recent leak. However,
Elden Ring insider Lance McDonald challenged that assertion, claiming that an official reveal was never slated for this month, and the leak has nothing to do with Bandai Namco's current plans for the game. Either way, it seems fans will be waiting a bit longer!

New report suggests we won't be getting more Elden Ring anytime soon due to leaks

Card image cap

We’ve all had a good, if somewhat shaky, look at Elden Ring earlier this month due to a trailer for the upcoming game being leaked. However, it seems that this leak of the extremely anticipated game’s trailer has soured some at Bandai Namco. A report from VentureBeat journalist Jeff Grubb suggested the possibility that we won’t be seeing any of Elden Ring for a while now, and it’s all thanks to that leak.
In a video posted to his channel, Grubb suggests that the recent Elden Ring leak might have “messed things up a little bit.” He goes on to explain that he believes Bandai Namco is getting itself back on top of the messaging and direction of Elden Ring. If true, this would obviously be disappointing to the game’s thousands of fans, who have been waiting eagerly for any news regarding it. We wrote about why that kind of rabidity may actually hurt the game immediately after the leaks came out.

The most anticipated games of 2021 – Time to fall victim to the hype train again

There are a LOT of new games worth anticipating, with some games like HITMAN 3 which should already be out by the time you actually read this. We’ve got a mixed bag of games here, with various genres across all platforms, from AAA stuff to potential indie gems. We’ve tried to keep exclusivity down, but some exclusives are worth the hype, so they’re in there. Without further ado, in no particular order, here are (what we think) some of the most anticipated games of 2021.
Back 4 Blood
As we all know, Left 4 Dead 2 never had a sequel. This probably has to do with the fact that Valve hates the number 3. Thankfully, Turtle Rock Studios, developers behind the original Left 4 Dead are working on Back 4 Blood. What we can expect to see is the traditional 4 vs horde gameplay plus some more added multiplayer modes that the original Left 4 Dead games really should have had. Expect Back 4 Blood sometime this summer.

Shadows May Die Twice, He’ll Die Thousands
One of the interesting things about gaming is self-imposed challenges. Whether it’s defeating all of Final Fantasy X’s superbosses without touching the sphere grid or playing Skyrim while avoiding as much adventure as humanly possible.
From Software games are known for being punishing, and one fan has come up with a unique challenge for himself while he waits for Elden Ring, a game which we know very little about, despite some footage leaking earlier this month – although, given it was created in collaboration with George RR Martin, we can expect it to be among the developer’s most brutal offerings.

More Unannounced Xbox Games Are Coming This Year, Says Microsoft
Surprising no one, Xbox's director of program management says that more unannounced games will come to platforms this year.
A Microsoft executive has said that there are more Xbox games coming this year that we don't yet know about. In an interview with the Iron Lords podcast that focused on the Xbox Series X, Xbox's director of program management Jason Ronald was asked what game he was most looking forward to in 2021. In response, he said the following: "Not all games that are releasing this year have been announced."
While this certainly isn't a surprise, given that there's still a lot of 2021 left to go, it's not clear if Ronald was referring to games made by Microsoft's own Xbox Games Studios or any other studios that the console juggernaut owns, such as Halo developer 343 Industries. Ronald might also be referring to studios that Microsoft is in the process of buying, such as Bethesda.

Elden Ring Is Rumored to Feature Multiplayer That Is Similar to Dark Souls
This week has brought with it quite a lot of new rumors and details on
Elden Ring, the upcoming action game by FromSoftware. While we have yet to see anything official from the studio or its accompanying publisher, Bandai Namco, leaked footage for the game actually came about to kick off this week. Now, to capitalize on that leak, some new bits of info have now emerged once again and may give us an even better idea of what to expect when it releases.
