Govt plans to sell 'enemy property' shares in 84 cos; scrips of 20 firms put on block in 1st tranche

The Indian government plans to sell over 2.91 lakh 'enemy property' shares in 84 companies to individuals and corporates in tranches as part of its initiative to dispose of assets of individuals who migrated to Pakistan and China. The first tranche will involve selling 1.88 lakh shares in 20 companies and inviting bids from 10 categories of buyers, including individuals, NRIs, Hindu Undivided Families, Qualified Institutional Buyers, trusts, and companies.
