Police officer slapped with GH¢100k bail for alleged fraud
An officer with the Estate Unit of the Ghana Police Service Headquarters in Accra, General Sergeant Asomani Kennedy, has been slapped with a bail term in the sum of GH¢100,000 with three sureties, one to be justified by an Accra Circuit Court.
The Circuit Court, presided over by Mrs Priscilla Dapaah Mireku, yesterday was told by the prosecutor, Chief Inspector Gohoho, that G/Sgt Asomani was currently on interdiction and being tried on four counts of defrauding by false pretences.
According to him, the accused person, between 2018 and 2019, introduced himself to numerous people, including the complainants in the case, John Takyi, Eric Apraku, Kissy Patterson and Daniel Oppong, that he was enlisting people into the Police Service. ....
