Bulgaria's Kozloduy plant reconnects nuclear reactor after maintenance

SOFIA, May 27 (Reuters) - Bulgaria’s state nuclear power plant Kozloduy reconnected on Thursday its 1,000 megawatt (MW) nuclear reactor Unit 5 after a planned maintenance and refuelling, the plant said.
Kozloduy, situated at the Danube River, said in a statement that the reactor was reconnected to the national power grid at 0651 GMT, after a clearance by the country’s nuclear regulator. The reactor was shut on April 17.
Its other 1000 MW reactor, Unit 6, whose capacity was temporarily decreased by 50% on May 25 after a shutdown of a pump in its non-nuclear part, was working at a gross load of 752 MW, information at the plant’s website showed. (Reporting by Tsvetelia Tsolova)

DUBAI (Reuters) - Abu Dhabi-headquartered National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) has been awarded a $744 million local oilfield development contract, state news agency WAM reported on Tuesday, citing state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Co (ADNOC).
The engineering, procurement and construction contract is for the for the full field development of the Belbazem Offshore Block in Abu Dhabi, WAM said.
The contract awarded by Al Yasat Petroleum Operations Company, a joint venture between ADNOC and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).

DUBAI, May 20 (Reuters) - The United States is imposing sanctions on two Houthi military officials as the Iran-aligned movement continues its offensive to seize Yemen’s gas-rich Marib region, U.S. special envoy on Yemen Tim Lenderking said on Thursday.
Lenderking, who has been pushing for a ceasefire deal between the Houthis and a Saudi-led military coalition, also told a virtual media briefing that all ports and airports in Yemen should be opened to ease a humanitarian crisis.
