The Inspector-General of Police (I-G), Mr Usman Baba, has approved the setting up of an Election Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Team ahead of the general elections.
The IGP said members of the team would be deployed across states of the federation to identify, analyse and mitigate threats to security during the elections.

According to Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force spokesman who disclosed this in a statement, the move is in furtherance of the Inspector’s-General of Police drive for safe, secured, and credible general elections as well as ensure adequate security coverage before, during and after the 2023 general elections,
