jennifer hominy. she was able to inspect the plane, actually walk through it. so she has a lot of information. thank you very much for being with us. let's begin with what you saw that we don't know more about when you walked through that plane. what do people have to know this morning? >> yeah. thank you very much for having me, poppy. and it was described to us by the flight crew that it was a very violent, explosive event when it occurred, and you can see that from inside the aircraft. now we were able to inspect the airframe itself from the exterior and found absolutely no structural damage to the airplane so that's a great thing. inside there was a lot of damage to noncritical components. everything from paneling to trim

by the time he got to work, pro trump protesters were already en masse near the capital, in anticipation of what would become an infamous speech by donald trump at the ellipse. later, things took a turn. violence began to unfold, and goodman took after one of the first arrests of the day to a police transport vehicle. after that, he returned to the west side of the capitol, where he called what he called a medieval battle was taking place between protesters and an overwhelmed police force. eugene goodman didn't hesitate. he joined his comrades. goodman was then hit in the face with bear spray, and inadvertently got caught in a cloud of tear gas, deployed by law enforcement, causing him to run inside the capitol to throw up. when he returned outside, he saw a crowd of what looked like thousands climbing the scaffolding and scaling the capital exterior. then, he overheard that the senate side of the head had been breached. goodman ran back inside to protect who he could. one of the people he protected, you could see the video here

not have any issues. they are now back in operation, but they are continuing to do that work. as we learned, the faa is calling for a much broader grounding of those planes. it remains to be seen how exactly this will affect travel today, in terms of cancellation and flight delays. >> yeah, you know, priscilla, stay with me as i ask our director renee to put the photo that we have of that plane from the exterior. we can see it. you look at that panel to that goes out, you can see it's very smooth perimeter. it's not like a smoked -- window likable or not, you see some debris hanging off the side, but it looks like it's an actual panel that, let's see, many, many questions could go here. was it shut properly? was it as the pilots indited, an air pressurization thing that happens as a result of this blow out? or that happens before, which would indicate if it wasn't shut properly?
