The Labour Party governorship candidate in Imo State Athan Achonu has alleged that electoral materials were hijacked and diverted to a private residence in the Orlu Local Government Area of the state. According to him, the materials were diverted by thugs working for the ruling All Progressives Congress. He alleged that electoral materials meant for the Okigwe council area were hijacked by the thugs and taken to the local government headquarters.

LP alleged that the affected materials were meant for the Okigwe Local Government Area.
