Mediclinic City Hospital performs first major robotic liver resection in Dubai
Mediclinic City Hospital recently performed the first-ever major robotic liver resection in Dubai using the da Vinci robot. The procedure was performed by Dr Hemant Vadeyar, Consultant Hepatobiliary Surgeon, who was assisted by consultant surgeons Dr Faisel Ikram and Dr Roger Gerjy. The patient was a 55-year-old woman who had a colonic cancer resection done laparoscopically in 2021. She was recently diagnosed to have three tumours in the left lobe of the liver on routine scans done at another hospital.
