W Cape police dismantle arms cache, suspect arrested
Western Cape police have arrested a 62-year-old man suspected to be behind an arms cache warehouse in an industrial area in Malmesbury on the West Coast.

Western Cape police have arrested a 62-year-old man suspected to be behind an arms cache warehouse in an industrial area in Malmesbury on the West Coast.
“The suspect, a naturalised South African of German descent, was charged for possession of unlicensed firearms, ammunition and in terms of aspects of the Firearms Control Act, ” said Novela Potelwa.
Malmesbury police followed up on information in the area which led them to the locked-up warehouse in an industrial area where they uncovered an arms cache comprising rifles, 9mm pistols, an assortment of rounds of ammunition, and other heavy weapon artillery.
Julius Malema is currently on trial for allegedly firing a firearm at the EFF's fifth anniversary celebrations at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium.
EFF leader Julius Malema faces a charge that is related to an incident that occurred in July 2018 when he fired a rifle at the EFF's fifth anniversary celebrations.
