Five Saugus firefighters graduate state Firefighting Academy Five Saugus firefighters completed an intensive 50-day training program to graduate from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy. The Saugus firefighters in the Academy’s Class 289 include James Cresta-Devine, Patrick Cross, Ryan Henehan, Christopher Hunt and Drew Oxley. Saugus Fire Chief Mike Newbury said Oxley was named the outstanding student in his class. “This just shows how good our in-house initial training is at the Saugus Fire Department when this is a regular occurrence,” Newbury said. Newbury told the Advertiser all five recruits excelled in their training. He wished them all long and healthy careers. ....
