OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Oakes didn’t waste anytime getting back in the win column as they defeated Ellendale 15-0 in three innings. The game lasted for a total of 57 minutes as Oakes scored a total of 11 runs in the second inning. Everyone in the starting lineup scored for Oakes and seven of the nine batters got hits. It was a promising start for Oakes as they went up 5-0 after four innings, but their relief pitching and defensive mistakes cost Oakes in 6-5 loss against Lisbon. Right-handed pitcher Howie Neustel got the start and had a solid four innings giving up just two walks, three hits and no runs with three strikeouts.
