You were wondering. first, american airlines in something of a thaw in the frigid relations between the company and its pilots union. they will be back at the table later this week. talks aimed at a new pilots labor contract. the union rejected american s most recent offer back in august, but now union leaders say they will seek an industry standard contract. american is also dealing with plenty of flight problems. the latest came yesterday during a scheduled flight from dallas to st. louis. the plane was forced to turn become to dallas after ten minutes in the air. passengers were told to brace for a crash landing, but thankfully it never happened. they were put on another plane and ultimately arrived safely. that incident came as american got to the bottom of its problem with the seats coming loose. abc s jim avila reports. reporter: boston s logan field, one of american s boeing 757s, 47 of which nearly the half the fleet taken out of service as the troubled airline tri ....

Journey. i ll give you a full briefing. first, mika, the news. let s get a look at today s top stories. we ll start with this situation that affects air travelers around the world. thousands of flights remain grounded throughout northern europe due to a massive cloud of ash from a volcano in iceland. it s the worst disruption in air travel since 9/11. tens of thousands of travelers on six continents are stranded. because the plume of ash is so powerful, it could shut down a plane s engine. the ash cloud is following the winds and weather patterns across the atlantic, which is of course the very same route planes fly. flight problems are expected to last at least another full day. normally there would be about 28,000 flights in european air space, but today officials are expecting just 11,000. however, ireland has reopened many of its airports because the ash cloud has moved away from most of that country s air space. now to politics. tea party groups use tax day ....
