The Flora City Council is set to meet this afternoon at 4:30 at Flora City Hall. On the agenda, the council will approve the minutes the agenda for this afternoon's meeting as well as the consent agenda. From Mayor Rick Slaughter, the council will look at approving a resolution relating to the Illinois Municipal League's annual meeting, an ordinance authorizing an intergovernmental agreement with MABAS, and an ordinance amending the water and sewer rates for the city. From Commissioner Jeremy Henderson, the city will look to approve an ordinance to approve a lease agreement between the city and Clint Green with the Little Toot Railroad, going through April of 2024. From City Administrator Mike Stanford, the council will look at things from Crossroads Insurance Services, Rener Symerta Reinsurance, increase Health Insurance Funding of Premiums, look at an ordinance approving a TPA Agreement with Mutual Medical Plans Incorporated, starting June 1st and going through May of 2027, hearing from Morgan Doggett and Heather Neuman of Drew Lane Consultants, Approving an ordinance concerning the records intermediary re-lending program and a loan to be made to Outpost Bar and Grill, and ordinance approving an option agreement with Hella North America Inc., and waive formal bidding for the purchase of a 2023 Chevrolet truck for the water department in the amount of $60,445.26. Under building and zoning, an ordinance will look at being approved, granting a variance to Andrew Cox at a parcel of property located at 503 West 3rd Street.

The Flora City Council is set to meet this afternoon at 4:30 at Flora City Hall. Under regular business, Mayor Slaughter has the items of the retirement of David Rudy and the discontinuation of the sewer adjustments on pools. Under City Administrator Stanford's business, the council will look to approve and ratify a grant under the facade improvement for EJ Lewis Properties LLC and look to approve an agreement by and between the city and SCIRPDC (South Central Illinois Regional Development and Development Commission), and, look to approve an ordinance approving the grant writing services agreement with the SCIRPDC. Under business from City Treasurer Abbie Orel, the city will look to amend and approve the budget and make an agreement with Botsch and Associates CPAs. A few events are on the consent agenda awaiting city approval. A request will be made by the Flora Masonic Lodge to use Charlie Brown Park on May 27th for the 2nd annual Flora Masonic Lodge and Shriners Hospital Auction. The Clay County Extension will make a request to use Charlie Brown Park each Tuesday from May 4th to June 1st for Dog Obedience Classes for 4-H.

The Flora City Council is set to meet this evening at 4:#0 at Flora City Hall. The board will look to approve the consent agenda, including a request from Kari Thackrey of the First Christian Church for the 7th annual Flora's 6K for Water as well as a request for the approval of the farmers' market at Library Park on Saturdays from 8 AM until 12-noon starting May 6th and running thru September 30th. Under regular business, Mayor Rick Slaughter will recommend appointing Amy Allen and Anna Rounds to 2-year terms on the tourism committee and a resolution appointing a budget officer for the city. City Administrator Mike Stanford will look to request a resolution committing funds towards the unsewered communities Illinois EPA Permit Application. Stanford will also request an ordinance to approve an agreement between the city of Flora and Fehr, Graham, and Associates LLC for work. Police Chief Durre will look into requesting a purchase of a 2018 Chevy Taho from the Missouri State Highway Patrol at an expense of $26,000. Finally, the board will look at an ordinance to grant a variance to Tro M. Harland and Morgan L. Harland at a property located at 151 Willow Street.
