course russian members of the military are treated as the brave ones and defending their motherland. thank you as ever. let's turn to the euros. in under an hour, it's hungary against germany in munich — it's their last game in the group stage. one person who's not there is hungary's prime minister victor 0rban. he opted out as row escalates over a new hungarian law that bans portraying homosexuality to under—18s. a number of other eu members have criticised this — including germany. "first of all, i think this law is wrong and also not compatible with my ideas. if you allow homosexual partnerships but limit the information on it then it also has something to do with the freedom of education. that to me is something i politically reject." this has become a sport story

DILG backs junking of DND-UP accord, calls for review of its pact with UP

Published January 23, 2021 10:07am
The Department of the Interior and Local Government on Saturday expressed support for the abrogation by the Department of National Defense of its 1989 accord with University of the Philippines.
In a news release, DILG Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Usec. Bernardo Florece said, “The agreement has become obsolete and no longer attuned to the times. It was signed way back in 1989, three years after the end of the Marcos dictatorship. The conditions have changed.”
Florece agreed with the DND of the ongoing clandestine recruitment inside UP campuses by the communists and its front groups, including the New People's Army.
"This fact has been tolerated by the government for a long time out of respect for the agreement,” he pointed out.

that's not actually how it was set up. article 5 does not compel other nato members to get involved if a nato country attacks someone else. i'm not really sure where this conversation came from about montenegro being very aggressive and suddenly starting world war iii, but that's not actually what nato does. >> no. but let's take maupt montenegro off the map. they are tucked away in the corner of the balkans. they couldn't find world war iii, let alone start it so let's get that off the table. we have alliances because it strengthens the international community. we have an international obligation. secondly as we just talked about, ali, it brings resources with us. again, the second largest defense budget in the world are those europeans. third thirdly, they have shown the will to come and fight with us and they stand together above all for the values we stand for. democracy, freedom of speech, freedom of education, liberty.
