Local DJ Mike Grefner still missing

Family and friends are continuing to organize ground search groups in the Whistler area. A large group set out on a civilian search in Function Junction on Wednesday morning, said Sgt. Shawn LeMay of Whistler RCMP.
Grefner s sister Katherine told The Question she s been consulting various psychics to try to get some kind of lead on where Mike might be.
I ve never talked to psychics, but I m at my wits end, she said Tuesday (Jan. 24). I just need to find him and I m just doing everything I can.
A Facebook page called Mike Grefner - Missing has been extremely active, with family and friends coordinating search efforts and sharing possible leads. ....

Bear killed in Function Junction

Conservation officers have killed a female black bear after it broke into multiple vehicles and began charging people in the Function Junction area.
Conservation officer Simon Gravel said the bear was killed Thursday evening (Oct. 18) when it entered an occupied building in the Function Junction neighbourhood.
Gravel said the bear s behaviour had escalated over the past week, but it was the events on Thursday that prompted the decision to kill the bear.
Last night between 6 and 10 p.m. we had four reports of this bear breaking into cars and charging at people, Gravel said on Friday (Oct. 19). This is a high level of conflict representing a risk for the public. ....
