It was still dark outside when Black Friday shoppers began lining up outside the doors of Macy’s at Vancouver Mall. The store opened at 6 a.m., and about 12 people had lined up by then.
Article content One of the objectives of the Ripley and District Horticultural Society (RDHS) is beautification of home and community. In the summer RDHS volunteers tend the public gardens and fill village planters with colourful annuals. In winter the society brings colour and cheer to homes and businesses through the creation and sale of Christmas planters. This year, in the absence of the greenery auction in November, members placed orders for planters and small floral arrangements.
