Judge Olann Kelleher remanded the accused in custody until July 27 and said he would require an update in the matter at that stage.
Judge Olann Kelleher told him that if he secured bail in the High Court in Dublin on the charges he must attend court in person on April 20.
The 42-year-old was remanded in custody.
