And as for the red carpet, talk about the crème de la crème of early aughts fashion. J.Lo's completely sheer, Chanel gown continues to rank among the Oscars' most unforgettable style moments, while Björk's infamous swan dress (quite literally) ruffled feathers.

Economist James K. Galbraith said policymakers failed Texas during the state's recent power outage.
Texas' deregulated electrical system incentivized the cheapest production without accounting for resilient machinery.
Galbraith says the only way to fix the system is to turn it into a public utility.
Millions of Texans lost power last week and were stuck living in freezing conditions as their electrical bills skyrocketed. The crisis was totally preventable, according to a left-leaning economist who teaches at the University of Texas at Austin, and the reason why has to do with the state's deregulated electricity system.

The architect of Texas' electricity market says it's working as planned. Critics compare it to late Soviet Russia.

The Texas power grid, entirely contained within the state to avoid federal regulation, is facing renewed scrutiny after buckling under four days of sub-freezing temperatures. "Far too many Texans are without power and heat for their homes," Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) said Tuesday. "This is unacceptable," and the Texas government and legislature must find ways "ensure that our state never experiences power outages like this again." This isn't the...

Populism is a term many people have seized upon to explain the Donald Trump phenomenon. But the definition of
populism has always been somewhat hazy, and the Trump era has had a dearth of concrete policy fights that could be explained as an expression of the president’s populism. During the Russia and Ukraine scandals, you could sort of discern ad hoc populist coalitions defending Trump against the national security establishment, but while Trump’s supporters in these episodes presented the issue as being “really” about national security, in reality they were simply justifying a bunch of corruption and abuses of power.
