Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) Greater Noida
GREATER NOIDA: After Child PGI in Sector 30, a biosafety level (BSL)-3 lab is in the pipeline for Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) Greater Noida. The lab will be built at a cost of Rs 2.8 crore. While tender for the lab has been finalised by the hospital director, an approval from the UP government is awaited even as in principle nod for the lab has been given.
GIMS is also moving towards speciality treatment having procured a CT scan machine where scans will be available at nominal charges of Rs 1,500 as against private hospitals and diagnostic rates of Rs 5,000-6000. Other facilities include mammography, dialysis, neurology, HIV Aids test and radiology. The hospital has got 20 more faculties and 20 resident doctors with two medical officers appointed in the dental department even as its nursing department has been ramped up to 222 from 187.

Noida woman tests +ve for UK variant | Noida News

NOIDA: One of the two residents, who had returned from the UK recently and were admitted to Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) after testing Covid-19 positive, was on Wednesday detected with the UK variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
The two patients were admitted to GIMS on Saturday.The Noida woman is the second person from the state to have tested positive for the new virus strain. A day earlier, a two-year-old, who had returned from London along with her parents on December 14, was found positive for the new mutant Covid-19 strain.
The sample of the woman, (33) who had returned on December 17, was sent to CSIR-Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB), Delhi, where genome sequencing detected the mutated virus variant.
