A Scott County jury has convicted Joshua Pendleton of first-degree murder in the 2019 death of a Fort Dodge pastor. The Rev. Allen Henderson, 64, was found unresponsive Oct. 2, 2019, outside St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge, where he served for 20 years. Police said that afternoon Pendleton, 37, who lived near the church, tried to enter a rear exit that leads to a fellowship hall and kitchen as confirmation class for middle schoolers started.
