Lucknow, April 27 : With the indefinite postponement of Class 12 board examinations in several states due to the pandemic conditions, students preparing to go abroad for further studies are in a quandary.
"Postponing the board examinations further will have a rippling effect on our careers because delayed examination will lead to delayed results. This will adversely affect the students' plans to prepare for competitive tests and secure admissions for Undergraduate (UG) degree programs in overseas colleges and universities, where the exams and classes might not get postponed because their classes and exams are being conducted via online platform," said Raj Kishore Dutta, whose son is seeking admission in computer science course in the US.

CBSE exams: Principals want fair criteria for grading class 10 students

The CBSE's decision on board examinations in view of rising COVID-19 cases evoked mixed reactions from school principals and educationists who demanded there should be a fair criteria for grading class 10 students and a schedule be announced soon for class 12 examinees.
The CBSE on Wednesday cancelled class 10 board exams and postponed class 12 exams following surge in coronavirus cases. While the situation will be reviewed in June for conduct of class 12 examinations, the result for class 10 will be declared on basis of an objective criteria decided by the board.
The exams were scheduled to begin from May 4.

New Delhi– Global Dream Shaala, an initiative for providing free education to out of school children starting with Uttar Pradesh, launched earlier this week on Human Rights Day. The initiative will promote functional literacy and numeracy among masses, and was born out of an observation of underprivileged children aged 6-14 unable to read even a one-paragraph story fluently.
According to educationist Dr. Sunita Gandhi, “Our primary objective with Global Dream Shaala is to provide a zero-cost scale-up model of learning that is both quick and effective, and that makes learning gain real every day. This keeps the motivation of both volunteers and learners high.”
