Arsenal have made contact with the agent of Brazilian teenager Matheus Martinelli, who has impressed for Fluminense since debuting last year.
The 19-year-old has made 16 appearances in all, playing in a central or defensive midfield role. He’s netted three goals and registered one assist in those outings. His performances have made him the latest promising South American starlet to attract interest from Europe, just like his namesake
Gabriel, who moved to the Emirates in 2019.
And
the Gunners are one of those who have been impressed. The Premier League side have been scouting the youngster in order to follow his progress.

Santos told
Tuttomercatoweb:”He has two years of contract with Chelsea. He thinks about playing at the Euros, and then the World Cup in Qatar.
“He will stay at Chelsea, 100 per cent. A renewal? It will be spoken about in a few months.”
Jorginho’s current deal with the Blues lasts until 2023, by which time he will be 31 years old. But it seems he is ready to prolong that adventure further.
The no.5 has made 126 appearances for Chelsea since joining in 2018. He has scored 16 goals in that time.
He only needs one more goal this season to record his best-ever scoring tally in a single campaign.

Jorginho names key Tuchel idea that has inspired Chelsea resurgence
Date published: Wednesday 31st March 2021 6:30 - Samuel Bannister
Jorginho believes the rotation policy being used by Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea has been the key to their upturn in form.
Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard in the Stamford Bridge hotseat in January. Since then, the Blues have been unbeaten – form which has lifted them back into the top four. Jorginho has started 10 of those games overall.
The Italy international has divided opinion under previous regimes at Chelsea. However, he has been won over by Tuchel.
Although he was unable to break back into the Italy team for the current international break – a decision made so he could recover from recent injury setbacks – Jorginho has done relatively well at club level.

Raphinha's touching Ronaldinho shirt tribute explained as Bielsa hails star

After the match,
The winger has been the pick of Leeds’ signings this season and Bielsa said: “He’s a player who unbalances teams by himself.
“He’s very attacking, very competitive. He provides a mixture that is not very common because he works a lot and on top of that, he is creative and can unbalance teams.
“As a coach, I can add very little to his game. The best thing you can do with players who are so spontaneous is to let them be themselves.”
Raphinha also joined his Leeds team-mates in paying tribute to the life of Val Crosby, the grandmother of midfielder Kalvin Phillips. She passed away last Thursday and the team posed with a shirt bearing her name after the victory.

Palmeiras manager believes the 18-year-old would cost more than Neymar
Gabriel Veron has been on Manchester United’s radar, but ahead of a possible transfer, the Brazilian rising star incurred a devastating injury.
Amid an impressive season with Palmeiras, Veron faces one of the biggest hurdles of his young career. On Sunday, he suffered a muscle rupture in the right thigh in the club’s 1-0 victory over local rivals Red Bull Bragantino, Sport reported.
There is no specific timeframe yet as to when Veron can make his return, but the Palmeiras talisman would definitely miss the must-win Copa do Brasil semi-final match against America-MG.
