New York E-Prix: Bird dominates on day two

12 July, 2021
Jaguar Racing driver Sam Bird won Sunday’s ABB New York City E-Prix, bouncing back from a difficult Saturday to take a dominant lights-to-flag victory to jump to the top of the Drivers’ standings.
After picking up pole position for Round 11 of the 2020/21 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in New York City, Sam Bird bounced back for a dominant win around the challenging Brooklyn street circuit, repaying Jaguar Racing’s efforts from a difficult Saturday that saw the team rebuild his car.
The win puts Bird atop of the Drivers’ standings with 81 points as the all-electric racing series heads to his home race in London. However, on the other side of the Jaguar garage, the team were left ruing a potential one-two finish after Evans suffered severe damage to his car whilst trying to defend second position.

Formule E ePrix de New-York #1 2021 : Günther l'emporte

Qualifications

Vergne displays perfect timing to win opening race of Rome E-Prix double-header

Jean-Eric Vergne (DS Techeetah) produced a tactical drive in the Formula E race in Rome to take victory after starting from fifth.
He finished the race in 48 minutes 47.177 seconds, crossing the line behind the safety car, with Jaguar Racing's Sam Bird and Mitch Evans in second and third.
Vergne was under pressure throughout the race, notably from Lucas di Grassi (Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler).
However, the Brazilian succumbed to a technical problem late in the race allowing Frenchman Vergne to take command.
Stoffel Vandoorne crashed as he attempted to overtake, leading to the remaining laps being completed behind the safety car.

Rome E-Prix: Vergne wins after Di Grassi suffers issue from lead
10 April, 2021
DS Techeetah driver Jean-Eric Vergne won a dramatic first leg of the Formula E Rome E-Prix after Lucas Di Grassi suffered an issue from the lead of the race.
Di Grassi looked to have come out on top after a race-long, back-and-forth battle between him and Vergne, but lost power with under five minutes to go.
Sam Bird finished second after a nice recovery drive from 10th on the grid, ahead of his Jaguar teammate Mitch Evans in third.
Ladies and Gentlemen, your #RomeEPrix !
The race started behind the safety car due to the damp conditions, with green flag racing getting underway with just over 40 minutes remaining.

Rome ePrix Preview: New layout for closer racing

9 April, 2021
Electric racing returns to the streets this weekend for the Rome ePrix, Rounds 3 (Saturday) and 4 (Sunday) of the 2020/21 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, where a new circuit layout awaits drivers and teams for the double-header race weekend which will have FIA President Jean Todt in attendance.
On-track Nyck de Vries (Mercedes-EQ) heads to Italy on top of the drivers’ standings, having completed a Formula E first in the Diriyah opener, topping the timesheets in Free Practice, Group Qualifying, Julius Baer Pole Position, and claiming his maiden race win and the TAG Heuer Fastest Lap for good measure.
Jaguar Racing leads the way in the teams’ standings as new signing Sam Bird sealed a dream victory in Round 2 in Diriyah. That result saw the Brit extend his unique streak of winning an E-Prix in every Formula E season to date. It also drew him level with Lucas di Grassi (Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler) in second on the all-time winners’ table with 10 victories. Bird is also a winner in the Italian capital, having won the inaugural race in 2018, and he’ll be among the favourites this time around.
