The Carroll Fire Department responded to a relatively small grass fire south of town on Sunday afternoon. Chief Greg Schreck says they were called to the 23000 block of 215 th Street at approximately 4:36 p.m. No property damage occurred from the fire that involved a portion of an acreage grove and a field terrace. No one was home and no injuries were reported in an apartment fire on Saturday morning. Carroll Fire Chief, Greg Schreck, says the call came in at approximately 9:07 a.m. about smoke filling the hallways from apartment #7 at 1921 N. Randall Rd. Firefighters entered the apartment and conducted a search for occupants and found none. It was later learned the resident, Felix Mesa, was at work at that time, but other residents were evacuated until it was deemed safe to return.
