MotoGP: Alex Marquez Smashes Lap Record In Final Practice In Qatar

Gresini Racing's Alex Marquez set a new MotoGP outright lap record at Lusail International Circuit, clocking a 1:51.108 to lead the final practice session before qualifying. The top 12 riders all were under the old record of 1:51.762, set by Luca Marini last year. With Saturday's final practice determining qualifying groupings, both factory Yamahas and all four Hondas missed out on transferring to Q2, with Ducati locking out the top four spots and European machines taking the first 13 placings.
