Effective May 1 Arunachal Govt Announces Closure of All Educational Institutions
According to a notification, all higher educational institutions including colleges, universities, and polytechnics will remain closed effective May 1.

ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh government has decided to shut down all educational institutions from May 1 in view of the rapidly deteriorating Covid-19 situation in India.
According to a notification, all higher educational institutions including colleges, universities, and polytechnics will remain closed.
The notification reads:
1. All the HEIs (Colleges/Universities/Polytechnics) of Arunachal Pradesh will be closed from Ist May·2021
2. All the hostels will also be closed down from Ist May 202l. All the boarders/students shall vacate the hostels before 151 May'202 I (Saturday) positively.

GUWAHATI: The Election Commission of India issued broad guidelines to Conduct the General Election/Bye-Election during COVID-19 after receiving views/suggestions of National/State Political Parties.
Further, the Commission has fixed counting of votes for General Election to Legislative Assemblies of West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry along with Bye-Elections in various states on 02.05.2021.
In view of the surge in COVID-19 cases throughout the country, the Commission has decided to make more stringent provision to be followed during the process of Counting, in addition to exiting Broad Guidelines dated 21st August 2020, and has directed that

India on Monday reported over 3.23 fresh cases of COVID-19 and 2,771 COVID-induced fatalities marking it the 6th consecutive day that over three lakh cases have been recorded.

New Delhi- India on Monday reported 3.23 lakh fresh COVID-19 cases taking the total caseload of the country to over 1.76 crores. 2,771 COVID-induced deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours with the total death toll now amounting to over 1.97 lakhs. There are over 28.74 lakh active cases of the novel coronavirus in the country. However, India finally saw a downward spiral in the number of COVID-19 cases with 8.4% fewer cases than the previous day. It is the sixth consecutive day that over 3 lakh cases have been reported in the country.

GUWAHATI: Assam Health and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the state is well stocked with 25,000 vials of Remdesivir vaccine and can be used by northeastern states.
The Health Minister taking to his Twitter Handle also wrote, "We have decided to release Remdesivir doses to non-resident Assamese and nursing homes. We have also made concerted efforts to boost oxygen generation and storage capacity in Assam, making it an oxygen surplus state."

Maharashtra- The Aurangabad bench of Bombay High Court said on Monday told the people to first adhere to the COVID-19 protocols and then blame the government. This statement came while the high court was passing various directions as to how to tackle the pandemic.
A division bench of Justices Ravindra Ghuge and BU Debadwar instructed the people, including public servants not on duty and the doctors and paramedical staff to carry their Aadhar cards while leaving their homes and also told them to wear masks.

Assam Govt Issues Revised Notification, Educational Institutions to Shut in District with 300 + COVID Cases

GUWAHATI: The Assam government has authorized all the Deputy Commissioners' and Chairman, DDMA to close down all educational institutions (govt & non-govt) from pre-primary to University levels along with hostels & coaching institutions for 15 days, as and when cumulative COVID-19 cases in the last 10 days exceed 300.
The notification read, -"In partial modification and a continuation of the earlier orders issued, the Government in Second, Education Department hereby authorizes the Deputy Commissioners of the Districts and Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority.

GUWAHATI: The AIUDF (All India United Democratic Front) has stated that the government and district administrations have failed to control the price hike situation in Assam.
In a statement, AIUDF president Badruddin Ajmal said, "The unscrupulous traders are taking advantage of the COVID-19 pandemic, possibility of lockdown, and Ramadan. The State government didn't take strict measures and due to their irresponsibility, the prices of essential commodities have surged by three times."
The
AIUDF alleged that some government officials are also involved with unscrupulous traders.
Ajmal demanded the State government and the district administrations to take immediate measures to control the crisis.

GUWAHATI: Revising the guidelines for the COVID-19 management across the state of Assam, the state government now makes it mandatory for people to carry permission letters and invitation cards for weddings.
Meanwhile, shops and other business establishment will continue to remain shut from 6 PM onwards.
