The National Green Tribunal on July 27, 2023, had directed the district magistrates to carry out the exercise as per a 2016 notification, while hearing a petition on unauthorised constructions.
Issuing notices, a bench headed by Justice Prakash Shrivastava sought the response of all respondents, including the district magistrate concerned, and fixed the matter for March 11.
The NGT also directed the Delhi government and its public works department (PWD) to pay a cost of Rs 10,000 each for not submitting their reports according to the tribunal's earlier directions.
The NGT observed that the action-taken report on the waste-to-energy plant to be set up at the landfill site is vague, incomplete and inadequate.
